AUDITIONS - The Haunting of Hill House

THEATREX will hold auditions for 'The Haunting of Hill House' by F. Andrew Leslie from the novel by Shirley Jackson, and directed by Joe Hendren - Monday, May 21, 6:30-9:30pm and Wednesday, May 23, 12:30pm-3:30pm.
Auditions will be held at Phoenix Theater, 2605 Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis - in the Yellow Room. 
No reservations are required - individuals auditioning will be seen in the order they arrive. 
Unfortunately, this area of the building is not ADA accessible. If you would like to audition and require a fully accessible location, please e-mail joehendren@theatrex.org prior to May 21 and we will make accommodations. 

STORY
The dark and foreboding Hill House has remained empty for many years due to its infamous reputation. A group of strangers, led by an investigator of paranormal phenomena, has gathered at the house to study its dark secrets. The evil they uncover will prove deadly.

CHARACTERS
The play includes roles for 4 women and 3 men. Ages listed are approximated for reference, but most of the characters' ages are less important than their ages in relationship to each other. We are committed to a socially conscious and equitable casting process. You are invited to bring your whole self.

Eleanor Vance (20s-30s) - A reserved young woman, sensitive to psychic activity
Mrs. Dudley (40s-60s) - The reluctant housekeeper of Hill House
Theordora (20s-30s) - Outgoing and impulsive, well known for having ESP
Dr. Montague (40s-60s) - A professor studying supernatural activity
Luke Sanderson (20s-30s) - Nephew of Hill House's present owner and heir to the mansion
Mrs. Montague (40s-60s) - A late arrival with her own unique ideas about the house - strong, charismatic, married to Dr. Montague
Arthur Parker (30s-60s) - An unassuming but strange man who accompanies Mrs. Montague

REHEARSALS are expected to begin in September. Daytime and/or evening rehearsals are possible, depending on availability of the actors.

PERFORMANCES will be held at the James J. Hill House in St. Paul, Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 12-Oct. 27, 2018.

PLEASE PREPARE a contemporary 1-2 minute monologue, bring a headshot, resume, and a list of any and all conflicts (daytime and evening, weekday and weekend) for September and October.

Actors will be paid a stipend.
